Oleksandr Vakhovskyi is a Senior Software Engineer and e-commerce specialist with over a decade of background in building and scaling high-performance systems within the e-commerce, education, and enterprise sectors. He initially worked as a freelancer in Ukraine and later established himself as a renowned provider of reliable full-stack solutions, like popular OpenCart modules deployed to over 50,000 locations and assisted small and medium-sized enterprises in Eastern Europe and around the world.

Oleksandr now works on developing the backend at SolidProfessor, where he built and shipped SP Portfolio, a product offering sophisticated portfolio management, job board interaction, and talent analysis capabilities to thousands of customers. He contributes significantly towards product quality and performance based on his role that includes architecture, performance optimization, mentoring, and product scalability.

Besides that, he is also Head of Engineering at Travel Risk Group. There, he created an AI-powered data platform that offers real-time travel risk information in more than 90 countries. This project highlights his talent for integrating innovation, strategic vision, and technical leadership.

He maintains his open-source projects, such as DockDev (also described in his Medium article) and OpenCart Bundle, educates at Ukrainian IT schools, and helps the Ukrainian IT sector actively through collaboration with Kharkiv IT Cluster. In 2025, he also delivered a speech at UpstatePHP 2025 meetup with the talk about SonarQube, when he gave hands-on experience on how to improve code quality and developer experience. His recent work shows not only the high level of technical skills but also the adapting tendency with regards to world development in software development and quality assurance.
