Ilia Masandilov is a Seasoned Technology Leader and Distributed systems Expert with professional achievements and contributions to software engineering, distributed systems, and artificial intelligence.

Ilia has over 12 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, system programming, and distributed computing. Currently serving as Director of Engineering at Yandex Go B2B, he leads more than 40 engineers responsible for developing and scaling B2B solutions used by thousands of corporate clients, including the Yandex Business Travel platform.

Mr. Masandilov played a pivotal role at Gett, where he architected the Gett Delivery system, a distributed platform that enabled the company to pivot to grocery delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring its financial stability when ride-sharing demand plummeted.

One of his most recognized contributions is the open-source project NFQ_Filter (available at GitHub.com), a C++-based traffic filtering system developed over a decade ago. This solution enabled Russian Internet Service Providers to comply with censorship laws cost-effectively, saving millions of dollars by avoiding expensive DPI equipment. Its widespread adoption underscores his impact on network efficiency and cybersecurity, areas increasingly intersecting with AI-driven security solutions.

Mr. Masandilov holds a Master’s degree in System Programming from the University of the Russian Academy of Education. He has also completed an internal Mini-MBA program for technical leadership at Yandex.
